Tanishia F. Stokes received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Florida International University in 2000 and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2003. She was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2003. She started her legal career as an intern in 2001 for the Honorable Judge John J. Fletcher of the Third District Courts of Appeals analyzing both civil and criminal appeals for Miami-Dade County and in 2002 at the Broward County Public Defenders’ Office criminal division.
Prior to establishing Findlay Stokes Law Firm in 2004, Ms. Stokes worked an associate at the Law offices of Joaquin G. Molina, P.A., a general practice firm where she practiced in the areas of business law, criminal law, family law, probate and real estate law so she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her current law practice. In addition to her work in residential and commercial real estate transactions, Ms. Stokes also practices in the areas of real estate litigation, foreclosure defense, landlord tenant, as well as business organizations and formation.
Ms. Stokes is recognized and best known as a zealous advocate for her clients in conducting negotiations, mediations, arbitration and trials. She is a business and real estate advisor to numerous prominent clients. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Real Property, Probate & Trust Section, Business Law Section, Broward County Bar Association, Real Estate Attorney of Business Networking International (BNI) Legacy Chapter, Women Influencing Networking Group (W.I.N.G), Asian American Federation of Florida (AAFF), and Miramar-Pembroke Pines Chambers of Commerce. Ms. Stokes is the author of the book, “21 Principles: Maximize Profit and Operate a Successful Business.” She host a weekly blog of legal questions and answers for the public called “Ask Tanishia,” on her website at www.findlaystokes.com. She is a well sought after seminar and workshop lecturer and motivational speaker.
An active leader in a number of charitable causes. Every summer Findlay Stokes Law Firm provides a professional opportunity internship program to high school and college students who want to pursue a career in the legal profession. Ms. Stokes is a mentor to many young girls and women. Since 2006, she has served as Co-Chair of Daughters of Destiny International (“DODI”), a nonprofit organization. Her efforts have resulted in numerous awards and recognitions. In 2014, Ms. Stokes was honored as “One of One Hundred Outstanding Women of Broward County,” by the Boys and Girls Club.
Ms. Stokes enjoys cooking vegetarian meals, reading and researching, aerobic exercises, outdoor recreational activities and traveling the world. She resides in Florida with her husband, Rod. They are proud parents of a beautiful 21 year old daughter, Kassandra.
